Minions is a 2015 3D computer-animated American family comedy film. It was released on 10th July, 2015 in the United States. It was produced by Illumination Entertainment for Universal Pictures, directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda. It was written by Brian Lynch whose previous works include titles like Hop (2011) and Puss in Boots (2011) and produced by Chris Meledandri. It serves as a spin-off/prequel to the much acclaimed Despicable Me franchise. Its plot centers on three minions the protective leader Kevin, the hungry teenage rebel Stuart and little frightened Bob.
The history of Minions predates humans and ever since the dawn of time. They have served the most bad-ass and despicable masters. From T. Rex to Napoleon they have served them all. But, now they are in a crisis and can’t find a leader worthy of their service. Without a master they have become aimless and depressed. They would surely perish without any master to serve. And so rose our three heroes Kevin, Stuart and Bob who shoulder the responsibility to find their tribe the biggest villain to serve. In this journey to find a master truly deserving their services they travel to New York. There they find Scarlet Overkill, the world’s first female super-villain and their journey with their new master begins.
The film has although not received very high ratings with an IMDB score of 6.5 and 56 out of 100 on Metacritic yet it has grossed the Box office worldwide. It is the fifth highest grossing film of 2015 and the highest grossing animated film of 2015. It was a top performer on box offices worldwide for three consecutive weeks. Minions is a very lovable and enjoyable comedy animated family movie and you are sure to enjoy it to the fullest.
